Typical ultra‑processed foods include soft drinks, energy drinks, baked goods, energy bars and sausages. But many foods you might not expect, such as many types of bread and crispbread, can also be ultra‑processed.
You can use The Food App to find out which foods are ultra‑processed and which are not. The Food App also helps you find better alternatives to ultra‑processed foods.
How much does a Plus subscription cost?
The Food App is completely free to download, and scanning barcodes is also entirely free and unlimited. If you want access to additional features with a Plus subscription, it costs ÂŁ3.49 per month, or ÂŁ24.90 for a full year.
You can also try The Food App Plus for 7 days completely free and without commitment. If you cancel within the trial period, you pay nothing.
You can subscribe to Plus after downloading the app, and it is entirely optional. There is also no binding period.
Is family sharing supported?
Yes, you can share the Plus subscription through Family Sharing in the App Store, but not yet in Google Play.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancelling your Plus subscription is just as easy as signing up. The subscription is managed through the App Store for iPhone users, and Google Play for Android.

- Tap your name at the top
- Go to «Subscriptions»
- Select «The Food App»
- Choose «Cancel Subscription»
For Android:

- Tap your account icon in the top right
